SEMA 2016: Five We Want to Drive

When a convention gets as big as SEMA, it becomes hard to differentiate yourself among the throngs of people. And at SEMA, that means many builders, mechanics, OEMs, and others feel the need to produce flashier, more bombastic cars.

However, that recipe isn’t the best approach and many of these things are simply seizure-inducing piles of rubbish.

That’s why when we come across a gem among the thousands of modified vile vehicles scattered throughout the show, we stop and take notice. And for a select few, we take photos and feel the need to celebrate these awesome creations. Here’s the top five that caught our eye.

SEMA 2016 Drift Truck

SEMA 2016 Drift Truck

1. A twin-turbocharged Cummins and nitrous-powered drift truck running massive tires, a full cage, and a hydraulic handbrake. So rad.

2. Vintage 240Zs are rapidly growing in popularity and this gorgeous gold car stole our hearts.

3. This Porsche 930 Turbo is perfect. Plain and simple.

SEMA 2016 GT 4586

4. Ryan Tuerck’s Toyota GT 4586. A naturally aspirated Ferrari 458 V-8 in a Toyota 86’s engine bay? With the exhaust exiting ahead of the front tires, a full cage, and that Ferrari intake right in front of you? Sign. Us. Up.

SEMA 2016 Chevelle SS

5. This lifted Chevelle SS is terrible, the suspension isn’t done correctly, and it has a gross sticker on the side and tail of the car. We don’t care. It’s badass and we love it.
